J. Scott Williams
Landscape Architect
Contact
Originally from Buffalo, New York, Scott has lived in Crossville, Tennessee, New York’s Greenwich Village, and spent four years in the environs of Paris, France.
Scott received his Bachelors of Landscape Architecture at University of Washington in Seattle, and is CLARB certified—the industry-recognized designation for licensed landscape architects.
Scott comes to YardScapes, Inc. after 18 years heading up his Brookfield-based firm, J. Scott Williams Landscape Architect, LLC.
Landscape design has been a passion for Scott since childhood in that he recognized the beauty in nature’s design. And later while traveling abroad (remember those ‘environs of Paris’?), he was further inspired in his landscape design career.
We’re finding that Scott, like many at YardScapes, has talent to spare and interests beyond green-spaces.
Scott received his BA in Theatre from Connecticut College. He is a member of the Actors’ Equity and Screen Actors Guild from “his former career as an actor,” and “no, you have not seen him in any movies, or on tv,” he says. You can however see Scott in local theatre productions. We think that’s pretty cool.
He loves viewing and collecting art, and holds a certificate in Art Business from NYU. Scuba diving and snow skiing are the only sports he participates in—don’t see how he has time for much else.
Lastly, perhaps, most importantly, cake baking. Our resident Graduate of the Wilton Cake Decorating will apparently find any excuse to bake a cake. We have a growing number of employees, all of whom have birthdays, last I checked…
Scott lives in Brookfield with Jim, his partner of 25 years and husband of one year—congratulations are in order. Joining Scott and Jim are cats, Mocha and Flossie.
