Garden Maintenance

Perennial Garden Maintenance
Perennial gardens require less maintenance than lawns, but they need regular care to look their best and stay healthy. Some of the services that we perform as part of our Perennial Gardening service are:
- Seasonal clean-up
- Fertilize and mulch
- Inspect for pests and problems
- Edge the beds
- Water when necessary
- Remove spent flowers
- Pull weeds
Ornamental Plant Bed Edging
Defined ornamental garden bed edging can really make a big difference to the look and feel of your garden. A row of bulbs or even low hedges can work extremely well to create soft edging between different garden zones. The fragrant smells make herb edging a good choice for paths or seating areas. Living moss might be the dominant feature for shady garden bed edging or we can create a moss-clad edge between a deep shade garden and the surrounding area.
Annuals and Container Plantings
Nothing adds instant color and appeal to your landscape more than bright annuals strategically placed in and around your landscape.
Annuals typically bloom more freely and over a longer time period than most perennials. Whether you prefer classic landscaped beds or container plantings, annuals are always a favorite. Planted before the hot and dry summer, their root systems can get established ensuring beautiful flowers throughout the season.
Weekly Lawn Mowing
When we arrive on your property for your initial consultation we will inspect your lawn to determine: property size, type of grass, levels of shade, and any possible obstructions. We will then suggest an appropriate mowing schedule. We will recommend leaving lawn clippings to help shade and feed the lawn, but, in the event of clumping or excessive clippings, we will include bagging and removal.

MULCHING
Skillful mulch application is one of the many services offered by our estate management division. Not only does mulch look great while controlling weeds, it also has many benefits to your landscape. A good layer of mulch limits water evaporation from the soil requiring less watering of plants, adds organic matter as it decomposes, reduces erosion, allows better rain absorption, and insulates root systems in the winter.
