September 24, 2007. The first annual Bob Rasor Memorial Golf Classic-previously the Quad-Am Golf Classic-sponsored by YardScapes, Inc. was held on August 13th at The Club at River Oaks in Sherman, Connecticut. Run entirely by volunteers, the tournament raised $7,000 primarily through sponsorships and donations from local businesses and residents. With 108 golfers in attendance, raffle ticket sales and a live auction added to the success of the event.
Through the YardScapes Charity Fund, Shayne Newman, founder and President of YardScapes, Inc. has given a combined $17,000 in proceeds to MVP-SOS, a non-profit organization supporting New Milford’s youth in academic and athletic endeavors.
Newman presented a $7,000 check to MVP-SOS at the charity’s September 9th fundraiser. “I’m proud to be in partnership with a great group of men and woman who are committed to the kids in our town. MVP-SOS continues to build momentum and that’s my hope for the Golf Classic.”
YardScapes, Inc. provides full service landscape maintenance and construction services for residential and commercial clients.
