New Milford, CT. September 27, 2006. The first annual Quad-Am Golf Classic Sponsered by YardScapes, Inc. was held on July 31st at The Club at River Oaks in Sherman, Connecticut. Run entirely by volunteers, the tournament raised $10,000 primarily through sponsorships and donations from local businesses and residents. With 120 golfers in attendance, raffle ticket sales and a live auction added to the success of the event.
Shayne Newman, founder and President of YardScapes, Inc. decided to give back to the community that has supported his business for nearly 20 years. To show his appreciation, the YardScapes Charity Fund was founded.
YardScapes, Inc. donated all proceeds from the first Inaugural Quad-AM Golf Classic to MVP-SOS (Motivational Volunteers Promoting the Spirit of Sports and Activities). MVPSOS benefits the athletic and educational programs both within the town itself and in the New Milford school system.
Mr. Newman, on behalf of YardScapes, Inc. presented a $10,000 check to MVP-SOS at the charity’s September 16th fundraiser. “I had been putting on a smaller tournament for my employees the last few years and thought that by expanding the tournament into a larger fund raising vehicle would be a good way to have fun while supporting a worthy charity such as MVP-SOS.”
