NEW MILFORD, CT – YardScapes Landscape Professionals held their 10th Annual Fall Day of Service on Saturday, November 6th around New Milford by providing fall clean-ups at The Children’s Center, Nathan Taylor House, Pratt Nature Center, St. John’s Episcopal Church, and Village Center for the Arts.
Over two dozen employees as well as several friends and business associates met at YardScapes’ headquarters for the kick-off of their annual Fall Rake & Bake Day of Service event.
The morning began with coffee & donuts followed by a quick event history and its importance from founder Shayne Newman. “YardScapes is committed to our company philosophy that ‘everyone, everywhere benefits from a connection to nature’ and this has been especially true these past two years as friends tell us more and more that they truly appreciate seeing and spending time in beautiful green spaces – so thank you all for offering your time today,” expressed Shayne.
Volunteers then received their assignment for the day and loaded up the trucks with the necessary equipment. At 9:00AM sharp the teams headed to their assigned non-profit to perform the clean-up by clearing leaves, pulling weeds, cutting back flowerbeds and removing all the debris. One small group even helped assemble a yurt.
After all work was performed, the volunteers then met back at YardScapes for a cookout, and another round of thank-yous from Shayne.
YardScapes Landscape Professionals is a landscaping company located in New Milford and is celebrating 31 years in 2021! They perform both a Spring and Fall Day of Service event and are very active in the community throughout the year.
