PRESS RELEASE – JULY 8, 2025

YardScapes will join landscape and lawn care professionals from across the country in service at the 29th annual Renewal & Remembrance event in Washington, DC.
On July 14, approximately 400 landscape and lawn care professionals from across the country will gather in Washington, DC for the National Association of Landscape Professionals’ (NALP) 29th annual Renewal & Remembrance event. Volunteers will bring their skills and passion for landscaping to two of the nation’s most hallowed grounds: Arlington National Cemetery and the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial on the southwest side of the tidal Basin.
For nearly three decades, Renewal & Remembrance has been the landscape industry’s largest day of service, as volunteers donate their time, expertise, and equipment to honor America’s veterans and public servants. This year, in partnership with the National Park Service, YardScapes’ crew will work on a large-scale landscape project at the FDR Memorial. Volunteers will perform a range of essential tasks, including planting flowers and shrubs to enhance the memorial’s beauty. they will also expertly prune the historic cherry trees, spread woodchips, and remove a chain link fence to improve access and the overall open aesthetics of this important memorial showcasing FDR’s four terms in office.
“Renewal & Remembrance is a powerful example of our industry’s deep commitment to community, country, and stewardship”, said Britt Wood, NALP’s CEO. “It’s humbling to see so many professionals come together to care for sacred spaces that honor our nation’s heroes.”
