For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, the autumnal equinox occurs at 3:20PM tomorrow afternoon when the sun crosses the “celestial equator” and fall officially begins.
GRUBS
Lawn grubs are the pupae of beetles such as the Japanese Beetle or June Bug. They are soft-bodied and feed voraciously on the roots of your grass. A few grubs are normal, but an infestation will cause sections of your yard to turn brown and die off. If you can easily pull up a section of turf and see there are no roots, grubs may be the culprit. If you see 10 or more grubs in a 1 foot square or if birds, skunks or moles are digging up the lawn looking for grubs, it’s time to consider treatment. If left untreated, their life-cycle continues and so does the damage to your lawn. PEST MANAGEMENT
